Brown recluse spider

Here at Brown recluse spider bite.info I have noticed a lot of suspect “misinformation” regarding the Brown recluse spider.

Brown recluse spider bite in the United states and here in Australia with The White tail spider lampona sp. The symptoms claimed from Brown recluse spider and white tail spider bite seem to erratic and very little to no real clinical proof of diagnosis.

I feel that I am in a

position to be able to give this subject some sort of input having been bitten by a white tail spider back in around 2000, this (suspect) white tail spider bite and the hell ?it? put me through was horrendous and from that day forth I cannot help but ask myself …….. was it actually a white tail spider that caused that horrific hyper aggressive necrosis as diagnosed by my doctor?

The stories of white tail spider and Brown recluse spider bite on the net and the nectrotic effects claimed to have been caused by Brown recluse spider bites and White tail spider bite are very common, everywhere you look just seems to turn up yet another unsubstantiated case of spider bite, this in turn leads to misdiagnosis, and misdiagnosis leads to incorrect treatment, and incorrect treatment leads to further suffering, and the underlying condition left untreated, and in some cases worsening causing unnecessary discomfort and stress on the sufferer, I strongly believe this is the case in many white tail spider bite and brown recluse spider bite cases.

So ….. that is the question, was my case (as well as 1000′s of others) in fact the direct result of a white tail spider bite / brown recluse bite or whatever the case may be, or was it something else more sinister? That’s the thing when dealing with such a condition it could of in fact been caused by some sort of pathogen in the soil such as anthrax?

Of course it wasn’t anthrax although the symptoms were very similar to cutaneous anthrax, I was just using that as an example.I think in my case it was just too convenient to say “yep I was bitten by a white tail spider ok, next question” move on nothing to see here.

It has been proven on many occasions these “claimed white tail bite / brown recluse spider bites turning out to be something totally unrelated. I can see how easily it could be done as there are so many different conditions that point to the symptoms of spider bite it would be extremely easy to get it wrong.

I am no doctor, but what I do know is is that “clinical appearance” (which seems to be the way things are done)  by way of diagnosis of white tail bite / brown recluse spider bite simply won’t work, and in this day and age and the advancement in modern medicine it simply shouldn’t happen.

Below is some quick Interesting reading regarding the brown recluse spider from the Department of Entomology, University of California.

Abstract

Envenomations by the brown recluse spider have been reported throughout North America, despite the fact that the spider’s range is limited to the South and central Midwest of the United States.

Several of these medical reports have originated from regions of nonendemicity where the spider has never or rarely been documented and brown recluse spider populations are unknown. In most of these reports, no spider is positively identified in association with the dermonecrotic wound, and diagnosis has been based on clinical examination findings.

Considering the extreme rarity of brown recluse spiders in areas of nonendemicity, the diagnosis of a presumptive bite is a misdiagnosis that reinforces the assumption that brown recluse spiders are common local etiologic agents of necrosis.

There are many medical conditions of diverse origin that have been misdiagnosed as brown recluse spider bites, some of which can be fatal or debilitating. Physicians’ awareness of these conditions will increase diagnostic accuracy in areas of North America where bites from brown recluse spiders are improbable.
